Highworth Childminder

Maxine Apps is an OFSTED registered childminder in Highworth, north of Swindon, Wiltshire.  She provides a warm friendly home atmosphere where children can feel happy and learn through play.

The pre-school age children in her care have a full and varied week and an example of a weeks activities can be found on this site. Maxine introduces a new theme each term that activities are based around. The current theme is farms and the children spend time learning animal names and the noises they make as well as making farm related crafts. She regularly attends playgroups, toddler groups, music classes and Highworth library ensuring that the children have the opportunity to socialise with other children.

Good quality, home cooked food is important and she believes that child nutrition is key to building strong, happy and healthy children.

Birth to Three Matters is a framework to support children in their earliest years and Maxine makes sure that the young children's learning follows the Birth to Three Matters framework. 

With extensive qualifications including an NVQ4 in Training and Development, a Level 3 qualification in Safeguarding Children, Maxine is currently working on the final part of her Level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice, due to be completed in January 2007.  She has also received the prestigious 'Quality Assured' award from The Swindon Childminding Network.  In the process of training as a GEM childminder, she will soon be able to mentor newly registered childminders and those in the registration process in the Swindon area.

Many employers issue tax saving childcare vouchers and Maxine is registered to accept fees as vouchers from Busy Bees and the Children's Information Service amongst others.
